Meals for Families 2017
Meals for Families 2017 was a community event we at Southwest Legal Group were thrilled to participate in, and look forward to continuing this tradition every year. We enjoyed going above and beyond our usual legal advocacy and making a true difference for our clients. Almost each office chose a client family in need, and we purchased groceries for them. Our team enjoyed surprising them with the groceries at their home or office, and made sure to keep the conversation positive as we made our deliveries. We thanked our faithful clients, most of whom were going through a difficult life transition, such as no job, severe injury, or loss of life in an accident.
Reading Week 2017
Reading Week 2017 was sponsored by SWLG, in which all of the 3rd grade classes in Robert E. Lake Elementary School had a reading week in honor of Dr. Seuss. Members of the community volunteered their time to read books to the classes, including our very own attorney Jorge Corral. We truly enjoyed the opportunity to purchase Dr. Seuss books for all of the children, make donations to their school library, and work with teachers in a Star Reader program. This program rewarded the top reader of every class with “Oh the places you’ll go”, a Solucion Legal horse plush, and a gift card. Our staff loved working with teachers and students, as we truly believe in promoting education and reading in youth. We look forward to next year!
Make-A-Wish Walk/MS Walk/March for Science 2017
We joined and donated to the Walk for Wishes 2017 event, which supports our local Make-A-Wish foundation. This walk supported making a wish come true for a child with a life-threatening disorder.
We also participated in the MS Walk, which exists for people living with Multiple Sclerosis. This event also honors MS caretakers for their noble work. Our legal team at Southwest Legal Group participated and donated in this MS Society event, as we truly took pride in bringing awareness and funds to those impacted by MS.
We also supported the 2017 March for Science. “On April 22, 2017, in more than 600 cities around the world, we marched as an unprecedented coalition of organizations and individuals. We marched because science is critical to our health, economies, food security, and safety. We marched to defend the role of science in policy and society.”
Cinco De Mayo 2017
Cinco de Mayo is a celebration we look forward to every year, which is why this year we decided to join the many festivals occurring in our community. Our attorneys enjoyed speaking directly to people who had concerns or questions regarding legal matters. We at Southwest Legal Group had a great time giving back and hope to do so again next year!
